Eddie Martinez

Eddie Martinez (born 1977 Groton, CT) is a painter whose work and style began in graffiti and has migrated from urban, street environments to galleries and museums. Martinez’s works shift between representational to wholly abstract. There is a consistent line of characters, objects, and themes drawn from the artist’s life and imagination. Martinez regularly relies on the formats of portraiture, still life, and floral arrangements to structure works often begun as small drawings. Martinez is represented by Timothy Taylor, London; Mitchel, Ines, & Nash, New York City; Blum and Poe, Los Angeles. Martinez works are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, NY, Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY, RISD Museum, and The Davis Museum among many others. Martinez Lives and Works in Brooklyn, NY.
